Head of Search (SEO) at Infinity Digital Agency is a strategic management role. This position directly reports to the General Manager. The major role of a Head of Search (SEO) is to lead the development and execution of comprehensive SEO strategies to enhance organic visibility, drive website traffic, and achieve business objectives. The Head of Search (SEO) works closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content creation, and web development, to ensure best SEO practices are integrated into all digital initiatives. Additionally, they stay updated on industry trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to adapt strategies accordingly and drive continuous improvement in organic search performance.

Ultimately, the Head of Search is responsible for driving significant increases in organic traffic, improving search engine rankings, and contributing to the overall success of the company’s digital marketing efforts.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The key roles & responsibilities of Head of Search (SEO) revolves around strategy, management, execution, and leadership:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive SEO strategies to enhance organic visibility and drive business growth.
  • Oversee and execute keyword research, content optimization, technical SEO, link-building, and other necessary initiatives to ensure effective implementation of best SEO practices.
  • Monitor and analyse performance metrics on a daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly basis, including traffic, rankings, and conversions, to assess the effectiveness of SEO efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage a team of SEO specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and support to optimise team performance and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content creation, and web development, to ensure alignment of SEO goals with broader business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with marketing professionals to ensure alignment of SEO goals and strategies across all marketing initiatives.
  • Allocate resources effectively and prioritise initiatives based on business impact and ROI.
  • Develop and refine overarching SEO strategies and roadmaps to align with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, algorithm changes, and technological advancements in the SEO landscape to inform strategy development and implementation.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities for innovation and differentiation in SEO approaches to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for SEO excellence within the organisation and the industry at large.
  • Share insights, best practices, and industry knowledge with internal teams through training sessions, workshops, and regular communication channels.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums, establishing the organisation as a leader in SEO expertise and innovation.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing and interpreting SEO performance metrics using tools such as Google Analytics, Bing Clarity, SEMrush, Moz, or similar platforms to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey SEO insights, recommendations, and strategies to cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Adaptability: Ability to stay updated on industry developments, algorithm changes, and new technologies, and adapt SEO strategies accordingly to maintain competitiveness and drive continuous improvement.
